Great location. Great food.

To spoil a salad is almost impossible. It even managed to spoil two different salads here. Such beautiful old pharmacy and the food that doesn't deserve a grade.

Quite expensive for small and loveless portions ... but quality was good

The scenery is good, but very expensive.

After a failed visit to a café, we went to the "River Café". We felt very comfortable, everything was fine! Another visit not excluded! Thanks to the nice service who knows how to deal with guests!

Nice atmosphere, friendly wait staff and good food. A nice central location, not too busy and the price-performance ratio is right. We recommend.

We sat at the bar. Great conversations with the bartender. Very nice ambience.

I was very pleased by visiting there, especially to recommend kitchen help, as he was okay with my joy.

You sit right on the street, but at least in the morning that doesn't bother you. Breakfast was delicious and inexpensive.

Good experience

You can sit in the River Café, the breakfast was delicious and the service friendly. I think it's a bit of a shame that there weren't any vegan breakfast alternatives and not a single plant-based milk alternative. This is no longer a rarity in cafés. I would be very happy if the River Café offered alternatives here :)

Had a nice breakfast here. Went for the scrambled eggs with bacon. Paid the extra to have it on a croissant... was ok with the cost. Coffee (espresso) was strong which I like. No complaints. The staff were friendly so that’s all you need. Got to sit in the sun out front and enjoy watching the world go by. Would go again. They also except credit cards which is helpful.

We were just the last to be left inside, good luck. Had to sit at the bar still. Very nice. Great food. This is not the cheapest place, but they serve a lot of real great food. Definitely a must. Phantastic staff.

We have been waiting for the plates, butter and jam for an hour after the coffee came straight away. Incredibly poorly coordinated. Very poor service.

Really highly recommended! Very nice wait staff and the food is excellent. Terrace facing the street which is absolutely not negative. You want to see something and there is very little traffic. Very cozy. Very, very happy again!

Location is great and the staff is ver friendly. I ordered a fish fillet with some pasta. Fillet was soaked of oil and the pasta was not eatable stale dry and tasteless. Desert was black vanilla ice cream imnsho was a bit pretentious. My feeling about this dish was pretentious and overpriced. This was my first time there so it might have been Covid-19 impacting their kitchen.

Good breakfast, but expensive. Difficult to get the attention of the staff.

We found the cafe on a walk because it looked very inviting. The interior is inspired by an antique, but the shop is new; what we have learned on demand. Nonetheless, we like it very much. The audience is very pleasant, overall it seems a bit elitist, which also fits the store. The drinks were very good and the prices adequate for the establishment.

Good food. Pro staff. Upscale clientele. Go there to have an informal meetup and stare at the passing cars and people :) can be full at times and certain items on the menu no longer available. A niche in Heidelberg. Overpriced for what it offers.

Loved the area, and the interior design, the service was excellent. The English breakfast was good, but a little overpriced for what it included. Overall still a good way to start the day, though! Would definitely come again to try their dinner menu!

Our favorite café in Heidelberg. Super nice service, great coffee, delicious cakes and unusual food on offer. In addition, homemade lemonade and sparkling wine. In good weather and outside to be recommended.

A huge disappointment. My wife and I both had the English breakfast which was expensive (13 euros) and of poor quality: the tomato was entirely cold, except for the bottom part which was heated and had an aroma of petroleum, as did the mushrooms; the jam was bitter; the beans clearly came from a can; the bacon had a lot of fat, even for bacon, and too little of it was served; the two small nürenberger sausages were also disappointing. The cappuccinos were at least decent, even if also expensive (2.8 Euro for a small cup), and sitting outside on a sunny side was also nice.

We were two for breakfast during the week. So it's nice ... but .. service is slow, friendly, but SLOW. to eat: coffee does not taste. It's water with some coffee - and a little milk flavor. We ordered breakfast for 2. Approximately 26 €. No coffee, but sparkling and orange juice, both taste good. But .. The food, to my taste .. is tasteless .. Unfortunately. And .. for 26 .. too little. Conclusion: it was interesting, nice to sit in the sun, but otherwise next time I go somewhere else.

Great food. Beautiful place and friendly staff. A bit pricy for what you get, and a ridiculous policy where you can't get a free glass of water for your meal (even if you had a big dinner with wine). But all in all a nice experience.

Friendly staff like delicious food and suitable ambience. Tagesenden - which changes daily - soup with main course 9,70 - fair and good! No WLAN and inside minimal reception (O2) Recommendation: Spaghetti with truffle - 21,50 €

Great food and atmosphere! The personnel was so kind & helpful. Just outside the touristic centre oh Heidelberg, it was the best dinner we had during our staying.

Nice shop with a cozy atmosphere. Informal service that responds to requests quickly! I found the cappuccino delicious, the Prosecco should have been a bit colder. Otherwise everything went well with my breakfast for two! The etagere of the river breakfast was plentiful and nothing was missing. The eggs were soft the orange juice fresh, the ham of fine quality and the salami very balanced in taste. I highly recommend the River Cafe.

Absolutely magical place to sit in the sun. Coffee was average. But great vibe in the restaurant.

Nice place, normal prices for Germany so quite expensive if you compare with Mediterranean countries.

Excellent. A very relaxing place to unwind with friends and family. Good customer service, courteous at reasonable prices. A place to be recommended, in good spring weather sitting outside or inside with inclement weather. The area is also dotted with other nice cafes worth visiting.

For the price, the food is very average.

Little bit expensive!

Food was good, location was good but the service was poor. Two of the waitresses were very rude to us and they refused to speak in English with us. In order to maintain their customer relationships, the staff needs to undergo a social skills training.

Charming venue and delicious food.

The menu is very small and doesn't offer too much to choose from. Even some basics like Pizza Hawaiian and Spaghetti with Meat Sauce are missing. It takes a loooong time until you finally get your ordered meal, probably to make you buy more over priced drinks. Why it took them 15 minutes to finally bring me the bill is a mistery though. Parking lots seem to be not available.

Perfect place for breakfast. Really good food quallity. Not expensive for the quanttity and the quallity about what you can eat. I recomend this place without doubts. I love it.
